Picture 1) This was the first stage for the development. I took a picture of a skirt which I held up to form the movement. Picture 2) After this, I copied the outline of the picture onto a bigger piece of paper and started painting in the areas once I had broken them up into bigger segments. Picture 3) Once i had completed the paint in the skirt I then moved onto the background which I broke up into large segments giving the impression of cubism.

I used the influence of abstraction and cubism in this piece of work. I did not break up the main picture into cubist segments, however I started off with making the shaded areas more sharp. I then broke the background up into bigger segments using cubism.

Picture 1) Picture taken of a skirt which is held in a position to show a different movement in it. Picture 2) I used Adobe Special Edition Photoshop to create the basic outline of the skirt. Picture 3) I then traced the outline and move onto picture 4 where I used both cool and warm colours. I broke up the different segments to show a very light cubist influence.

This is a piece of art work from year 12 coursework. The piece was inspired by portraits of myself when i was a baby. I used photoshop to rotate the faces 4 times and then copied the outline of the pictures together on a bigger piece of paper. This is a very abstract piece of work which was mostly influenced by Mark Rothko.

The acrylic paint is used for the main picture which is broken up into small segments influenced by the Carousal Cubism. The segments were divided up individually depending on the outline of the skirt. Once this was completed I used bumpy cardboard as the bacground to bring out the main picture itself. Then further divided the picture as a whole into more geometric/George Braque movements.

Through my development of cubism during my Year 13 course, I started off with this piece of work and from this I got most of my inspiration to procceed further into the influence of cubism. The colours used together gave me an interest in the movement of the skirts shadows.

Picture 3) Once this was completed I added in the black detials using charcoal. This made the picture look more alive as well as bringing out the more cubist look with the sharp break lines. Picture 4) I then added in the background which was also broken up into segments using 3 different colours to make the picture raise more.

Picture 1) This was the first stage for the development. I used charcoal to shade in the areas of the skirt for the outline. Picture 2) Once i had completed this I used yellow,red and orange ink with turpentine and created and abstract piece by smoothing the turpentine combined with the ink over the charcoal. Picture 3) When this was completed, I used charcoal and pastel to complete the cubist/geometric lines over the background picture.

This piece of work was influenced greatly by George Braque who's work is broken up into bigger segments in comparision to the Cubism Carousal.

Materials used: Yellow, red and Orange ink, Charcoal mixed with turpentine for abstract effect. Black and white charcoal/pastel lines used over background to create a geometric cubist illusion.
This piece of work was influenced by both the geometric line drawing and cubism movement.
