Statement of Web Portfolio

Throughout both my school career and private life I have always had a keen interest in art. This interest has culminated in me taking Art as one of my final A-Level subjects and over the years, I believe that I have developed my own unique artistic style and personality. I understand the complexities of different art styles and have been inspired, in general, by the surroundings of my everyday lifestyle. My passion for art and in particular cubism is one of the main reasons for my keen interest in the field of Interior Design.
The artworks which I have submitted demonstrate how I have experimented with cubism in various forms and how I was influenced by different artists. Additionally, a number of my artworks clearly demonstrate  that I am able to create the illusion of one or more objects being infused in a 3-dimensional form. My interest in cubism has enabled me to create and develop an original artistic style and I believe that my artistic vision, which includes 3-dimensional forms, will allow me to succeed in my chosen study of interior design.
The progression and development of my personal cubist artistic style has helped me to realise that interior design is a field which I would greatly enjoy and excel in as I complete my higher educational studies, and beyond.
In conclusion, I am a well rounded, highly motivated and committed individual. I apply myself completely in all activities in which I participate, be it either academic or on the sports field. I believe that these qualities are important in order for me to succeed and my individualism is depicted in the artworks displayed. The hard-edged style of my cubist art is reflective of my determination, drive and originality which I hope to be given the opportunity to develop further.
